Which incoterms apply to my order?
Yes, Incoterms apply on international orders. Incoterms are an international standard about the rights and obligations of the buyer and seller when transporting goods internationally. The following Incoterms can be negotiated: - Free On Board (FOB): The seller must load the goods on board the vessel designated by the buyer. The seller bears the risk of loss or damage to the goods and all costs, until the moment that he delivers the goods on board the ship specified by the buyer at the agreed port of shipment. From the moment the goods have passed the railing, the buyer bears the costs and the transport risk. FOB can only be applied to transport by water (sea and inland waterways). - Delivery At Place (DAP): DAP entails many obligations for the seller. The seller arranges and pays for the transport to the agreed destination. He also bears the risk of loss or damage to the goods until the moment that he transfers the goods, not yet unloaded, to the buyer at this agreed place of destination (i.e., place of delivery). The location of the transfer of the goods must therefore always be added to the delivery condition. At DAP this is indicated by the agreed place. - Costs & Freight (CFR): The seller bears the risk of loss or damage to the goods until he delivers the goods on board the vessel at the agreed port of shipment (once the goods have passed the railing). The seller arranges and pays for the transport and related costs to the agreed port of destination. CFR can only be applied to transport by water (sea and inland waterways). - Delivery, Duty, Paid (DDP): the seller has maximum obligations and the buyer minimum obligations. The seller is responsible for delivering the goods to the named place in the buyer's country and pays all costs to bring the goods to the destination, including import duties and taxes. The Incoterm is determined based on the customer's request. Please request this in your quote or discuss the possibilities by contacting us.
